We offer options to fit every schedule (and every Jedi energy level), plus solo walks for pups who prefer a quieter path. A Day in a Life at Barkside
At Barkside, daycare isn’t just a place to “drop off the dog.” It’s a place where your pup gets to run, play, breathe fresh country air, and feel like part of our family.
New pups may come for a quick meet-and-greet so we can get to know their temperament, chat with their humans, and make sure we match them with the right playgroup. No pressure — we also happily do this the day of drop-off if that’s easier. At Barkside, we believe that socialization is key to a happy and well-adjusted dog. Our daycare provides a safe and controlled environment where dogs can interact and play with each other under the supervision of our trained staff.
Our main daycare field is roughly half an acre, fully fenced and escape-proof, with lots of natural shade, constant fresh water, and plenty of space to stretch those legs. On those extra-cold Alberta days, we’ve got a cozy heated indoor area where everyone can warm up or have some relaxed playtime.
If your dog is shy, small, or just prefers a quieter crowd, we also have a smaller private field where they can enjoy the day at their own pace.

Our half-day daycare is designed with flexibility in mind. A half day at Barkside is any 4 hours, not restricted to morning or afternoon blocks. Drop off and pick up within the timeframe that works best for you and your dog. Our 4 Hour Missions are packed with play sessions, social adventures, and enriching activities that send your dog home happy and ready to nap like a Jedi after training.

For pups who want it all, our Full Day Daycare delivers a complete Barkside experience. Social play, enrichment challenges, rest breaks, and non-stop fun under the watchful eyes of our experienced crew. This is the all-day epic saga your dog’s been dreaming of.

(Solo Adventures)
Some dogs prefer their quests a little more solo. Our Walk in the Park option gives your pup a one-on-one outing with a Barkside handler—perfect for a potty break, a little exercise, or just a quiet stroll with a friend. No crowds, no drama, just a peaceful journey under the stars (or trees).
